Samsung Electronics is deploying ChatGPT Enterprise and Codex to all employees in Korea and all Device eXperience division employees worldwide. According to OpenAI, this global agreement marks one of its largest enterprise AI deployments to date. Samsung plans to integrate ChatGPT and Codex across multiple operational areas, including software development, research and development, manufacturing, marketing, and corporate functions, to boost productivity and problem-solving capabilities. Employees will use ChatGPT for knowledge-based tasks such as drafting documents, analyzing data, and searching for information under enterprise-grade security controls. Codex, which now has over 5 million weekly active users globally, will assist technical and non-technical teams with software writing, debugging, internal tools, and automated workflows. Harrison Kim, General Manager of OpenAI Korea, highlighted that Samsung is embracing AI as a core platform for company-wide innovation. The expanded partnership builds upon a previous collaboration where Samsung supplies advanced memory semiconductors for OpenAI's next-generation AI infrastructure. Meanwhile, other South Korean organizations, including Seoul National University and Kakao, are also adopting OpenAI technologies for campus-wide use and everyday messaging integrations, reflecting broader regional adoption across various industries.
