Hugging Face has released Workflow1111, a project that rebuilds most of AUTOMATIC1111's stable-diffusion-webui feature set as a single workflow canvas using Gradio Workflow. Built as a graph of eleven media pipelines across seventy-three nodes, Workflow1111 incorporates state-of-the-art models for text-to-image, hi-resolution fix, image-to-image, VLM interrogation, detection-to-inpaint masks, ControlNet-style annotators, background removal, PNG Info storage, and image-to-video. Users can run these pipelines by providing a Hugging Face account token, which directs model calls against their personal quota. The system relies on four operator types: Python functions, models called through InferenceClient, other Gradio Spaces, and Hub dataset rows. Unlike ComfyUI, it uses no custom nodes, combining LLMs and diffusion models as ordinary operators on the same canvas. Features such as prompt generation, object detection, prompt matrices, upscaling, and background removal operate either in parallel via nodes or through Hub spaces like AuraSR and BRIA RMBG-2.0. Because python function nodes can run locally or on ZeroGPU, the canvas can also drive a user's own hardware. Furthermore, every output node automatically functions as a REST endpoint and an MCP tool, allowing AI assistants like Claude Code or Cursor to invoke pipelines directly without custom glue code, while callers supply their own tokens via request headers.
Rebuilding AUTOMATIC1111 with Gradio Workflow
Hugging Face has introduced Workflow1111, a rebuilding of most of AUTOMATIC1111's stable-diffusion-webui feature set as a single workflow canvas using Gradio Workflow. The system combines eleven media pipelines and seventy-three nodes to handle tasks ranging from text-to-image and image-to-image to background removal and prompt-matrix grids. Users can run pipelines by signing in with their Hugging Face account to use their own quota.
Why it matters
This development demonstrates how complex multi-model UI frameworks can be recreated on node canvases using standard web tools, while automatically exposing capabilities as REST endpoints and MCP tools for AI agents.
