Pollo AI turns creative ideas into campaigns with OpenAI

Pollo AI, a platform serving more than 26 million users, is utilizing OpenAI models to help creators and marketers transform creative ideas into finished images and cinematic video ads without requiring production expertise. Founded by CEO Bill Zhu, the platform aims to simplify content creation similarly to how Canva impacted design. Pollo AI's latest offering, Pollo Agent, uses OpenAI models such as GPT-6 Astra and GPT-Image-2.5 to provide a fully guided video creation workflow that interprets rough ideas, visual references, storylines, and scripts. According to CTO Peter Zhou, OpenAI models were selected for their ability to understand ambiguous creative inputs and their multimodal capabilities. To balance reasoning depth, speed, and cost, Pollo AI uses GPT-5.6 for routing and GPT-6 Astra for more challenging narrative planning and scene revisions. This configuration reduces the time users spend choosing or switching models by more than 50 percent. Additionally, GPT-Image-2.5 handles image generation for posters, storyboards, and campaign visuals. The Marketing Studio suite features a Photo to Video Ads tool that enables small businesses and direct-to-consumer brands to generate product advertisements from still images and prompts in minutes. Examples provided by Pollo AI include fragrance, jewelry, and beverage brands producing luxurious or imaginative campaign assets that would otherwise require costly live studio shoots. Over the next 12 months, Pollo AI intends to continue making video creation an everyday activity by relying on ongoing improvements in OpenAI models and image generation to minimize trial and error in creative workflows.
