Presence pairs model reasoning with policies, guardrails, approved actions, simulations, evaluation tools, and a Codex-powered improvement process. Each deployment starts with a specific job, granting the agent only the required knowledge and system access while allowing companies to define policies and escalation rules. After launch, production sessions and escalations reveal gaps, and Codex proposes updates that teams can test and approve. OpenAI works alongside customers to identify workflows, establish permissions, test agents, and bring them into production. Presence currently powers OpenAI's English-language phone support channel at 1-888-GPT-0090, where it resolves 75% of inbound issues without human assistance. Leading enterprises including BBVA, SoftBank, and IAG are exploring or testing the platform for various natural language and voice support use cases. Presence is available to eligible enterprise customers through a limited general availability program with deployments led by OpenAI Forward Deployed Engineers and select global systems integrators, and it is not yet available as a self-serve product.
