Expanding our support for scientists

Anthropic has announced a significant expansion of its AI for Science program, opening 10,000 free Claude subscriptions for scientists worldwide and offering discounted premium seats for one year through a new Claude Team plan for scientists. Verified principal investigators can add their research teams to Standard seats at no cost or to Premium seats for $15 per month, which include five times the usage limits of Standard seats. The company also plans to extend the program beyond the initial 10,000 seats in the coming months. In addition to the subscription expansion, Anthropic is broadening the scope of its AI for Science program to support researchers in fields beyond biology and chemistry, offering up to $50,000 in credits per project for any researcher. The initiative currently limits biology and chemistry researchers to Opus‑class models, while Claude Fable models remain restricted for professional biology and drug development queries due to dual‑use concerns. Anthropic is partnering with the U.S. government to establish an access program for life sciences professionals to use Mythos‑class models and has enrolled its first participants. The company is also engaging with external safety evaluators, including METR and Hugging Face, and has opened an office in Singapore with an MOU to promote safe, responsible AI adoption.
