OpenAI and AWS are expanding their collaboration by making Daybreak cybersecurity capabilities available through Amazon Bedrock. According to OpenAI, this integration allows enterprises to use frontier cyber models within their existing AWS environments to support security workflows from initial discovery to a validated fix. The offering is divided into two access levels that require enrollment in Daybreak Access. Daybreak Blue provides access to frontier general-purpose models, including GPT-5.6 Sol, with safeguards tailored for authorized defensive security work. Daybreak Red provides access to purpose-trained cybersecurity models designed for authorized vulnerability research, exploit validation, and security testing. These capabilities aim to accelerate vulnerability research, detection engineering, and incident response, while supporting complex workflows like exploit reproduction and mitigation development. By integrating these tools into Amazon Bedrock, eligible customers can leverage familiar AWS security, governance, procurement, and operational controls. Once approved through Daybreak Access, users can access the models using the Amazon Bedrock console or the Responses API via the bedrock-mantle endpoint.
Daybreak models are now available on AWS
OpenAI and AWS are making Daybreak cybersecurity capabilities available through Amazon Bedrock. Eligible enterprises can now use Daybreak Blue and Daybreak Red access levels within their AWS environments to support security workflows. Both offerings require enrollment in Daybreak Access before they can be used via the Amazon Bedrock console or Responses API.
Why it matters
Making specialized cybersecurity models available through enterprise cloud platforms helps organizations integrate advanced AI into existing security, governance, and operational workflows. This expands the practical deployment of frontier models for authorized defensive security and vulnerability research.
