The Core Development

Today Cohere announced a proposed agreement to acquire AISLE, the company building autonomous systems to discover and remediate previously unknown vulnerabilities in critical software.

The proposed transaction represents another important step in Cohere's mission to build the world's leading sovereign AI platform, combining frontier AI models, agentic applications, secure deployment infrastructure, and advanced security capabilities that enable organizations to deploy AI with confidence.

It also reflects our continued investment in Europe. Following our acquisitions of Reliant AI and Aleph Alpha, the addition of AISLE would deepen our presence across the region and strengthen European AI and cybersecurity capabilities that help protect critical infrastructure, governments, and highly regulated industries around the world.

Real-World Use Cases & Applications

In its first year out of stealth, AISLE discovered more than 500 previously unknown vulnerabilities assigned CVEs across more than 100 codebases, including all 12 vulnerabilities in OpenSSL's January security release and 18 of the 24 CVEs in curl's latest release . These real-world zero-day vulnerabilities are independently reviewed by the relevant software maintainers, demonstrating the growing capabilities of autonomous AI security systems.

Deployment & Availability

Europe is becoming increasingly important in the development of sovereign AI. Governments and enterprises across the region are seeking technology partners that can deliver advanced AI capabilities while meeting stringent requirements around security, privacy, compliance, and data sovereignty. Cohere has made significant investments to support those needs, and this deal would further expand our ability to serve customers across Europe and globally.

Strategic Perspective & Ecosystem Impact

As organizations move AI from experimentation to production, security has become one of the most important factors determining successful adoption.

Enterprises and governments are increasingly navigating complex requirements around data protection, governance, regulatory compliance, software vulnerabilities, and the risks associated with more autonomous AI systems. At the same time, they are looking for AI partners that can deliver the flexibility to operate in private cloud, on-premises, and fully air-gapped environments without compromising security or control.

Addressing these security challenges requires more than powerful models. It requires a full-stack approach that brings together AI, cybersecurity, governance, and secure deployment. That's why we're excited about the opportunity to bring AISLE's expertise into Cohere.

Why it matters

The acquisition signals a growing trend of AI firms integrating autonomous security tools to meet stringent data protection and compliance demands, especially in critical infrastructure and government sectors.
