Anthropic has announced that Claude is now generally available in Xcode. This development brings the AI assistant directly to the popular developer tool environment. Users can now access Claude's capabilities within Xcode workflows.
Developers can now connect their Claude account to Xcode 26 to power coding intelligence features with Claude Sonnet 4. Xcode is Apple's integrated development environment (IDE) and offers the tools you need to develop, test, and distribute apps for Apple platforms. This integration lets developers use Claude's coding capabilities directly in their workflow, accelerating app development for Apple platforms.
When you log into your Claude account in Xcode, you’ll have access to coding intelligence features powered by Claude Sonnet 4:
Your Claude subscription usage limits are shared across platforms, with a portion available through Xcode.
Claude in Xcode works with all plans that include Claude Code—Pro and Max, plus premium seats for Team and Enterprise plans.
For more details, see the Xcode 26 release notes and Apple's documentation on writing code with intelligence in Xcode .
To evaluate the safety of our systems, Anthropic is giving employee-like access to a team from METR, a nonprofit that evaluates frontier AI models, and we're in early discussions with several other organizations, including Hugging Face.
Making Claude generally available in Xcode broadens its reach among software developers using Apple development tools, highlighting the ongoing integration of advanced AI assistants into standard developer environments.
