Anthropic and NEC have announced a strategic partnership in which NEC will adopt Claude as it builds one of Japan’s largest AI-native engineering organizations. The collaboration will make Claude available to about 30,000 NEC Group employees worldwide and focus on secure, industry‑specific AI products for finance, manufacturing, local government and cybersecurity. NEC will integrate Claude into its Security Operations Center services to defend customers against sophisticated threats and into a next‑generation cybersecurity service it is currently providing. Claude, including Claude Opus 4.7 and Claude Code, will be incorporated into NEC BluStellar Scenario, a program that offers consulting, AI tools, security and digital infrastructure to businesses, starting with data‑driven management and customer experience. Internally, NEC will establish a Center of Excellence to develop a highly skilled, AI‑enabled engineering organization, supported by technical enablement and training from Anthropic. NEC’s Client Zero initiative will also expand the use of Claude Cowork across internal operations. Anthropic has opened an office in Singapore and signed an MOU with the government to advance safe, responsible AI adoption.
